Overview: This role serves as a technical leader for the Electrical and Software engineering functions providing technical leadership, advisement, and guidance in the research, development, and commercialization of products and/or processes.  This position typically manages and supervises managers and engineers in the support of these efforts. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of electrical and software engineering and for the identification and development of new electronic sensing technologies in support of strategic planning.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical advisement and guidance to the company in specific discipline
  • Develop and manage international software engineering team
  • Assists with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling
  • Supports development and deployment of strategic plan
  • Identify, evaluate and develop new sensing technologies
  • Develop, deploy and improve the technology development processes and functions for the company
  • Maintain technical expertise through individual research, training, and personal development
  • Manage direct reports in daily affairs, projects, and assignments
  • Mentor, train, and develop electrical and software engineering team
  • Actively manage department electrical engineering resources for projects and company initiatives
  • Design, develop, validate, and assist in production launch and sustaining of products
  • Generate requisite documentation (Reports, BOMs, Gerbers, Drawings, etc…)
  • Interface with other internal/external departments and customers to provide support, understand program/project requirements
  • Provide technical direction in troubleshooting, Failure Analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Action processes

Education Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Master’s degree in engineering or related science is preferred

Experience Preferred:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in engineering field
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated support of product development through production launch for commercial products
  • Experienced in the use of DFMEAs, statistical engineering techniques, Design of Experiments, and generation and use of Product Validation Plans
  • Demonstrated business acumen
